How we use AI
We want you to know how our articles and images are made.
Where we use AI
- Research and drafting. AI tools help us gather ideas, outline articles and draft message lists.
- Illustrations. The main image on many articles is an illustration made with an AI image tool. We do not use AI to make pictures that look like real people or real events.
- Tools. Our tools run fixed rules in your browser. They do not send what you enter to an AI service.
What people do
An editor reviews every article before it is published. They check facts with a date or a number attached against official sources, cut anything that sounds generic or wrong for a British reader, and make sure the advice is useful. The person named in the byline is responsible for the article.
What we don't do
We don't publish articles nobody has read, invent quotes, reviews or experiences, or use AI for health or money advice without checking it against official guidance.
